Would you like to discover the best of Marseille and its Mediterranean coastline in 4 hours time? If so, the tour “Combination Land and Sea” is made for you! And since Marseille and Provence has more than 300 days of sunshine per year, chances are you’ll basque in the warmth of the sun (except for in the air-conditioned minivan)!
We’ll pick you up with our minivan and take you to le Vieux Port (the Old Port) where we’ll start the boat ride. We’ll head to the peaceful, rocky inlets of la Côte Bleue where you can swim and snorkel in the turquoise water. We’ll provide the mask and snorkel so that you can admire the coral and fish of the Mediterranean such as bream, mullet, sardines and sometimes even sea bass.
We’ll sail on to the Frioul Islands and the Château d’If where we’ll make a stop in a small and quiet lagoon with transparent water.
Then, we’ll come back to land at Marseille’s Old Port. A minivan will take you up to the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde which offers an amazing 360° view. A Provence Amazing Tours guide will point out all the principal landmarks from this viewpoint: the Saint Charles Station, the Vélodrome Stadium, the Cité Radieuse (a vertical village built by the famous architect, La Corbusier, and UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2016). From there, you’ll also see the Old Port, the industrial port, the cruise ship port and the beaches of Marseille.
After having a look inside, we’ll drive down to see the vestiges of Marseille’s past, enter the oldest bakery and visit a santons (figurines) workshop.
We’ll then take you back to our meeting point.
